Things To Know About Bucket Elevator Systems

By Stella Gay

Bucket facilities or elevators use an unlimited chain and belt and series of buckets connected to it. Bulk materials are spread and attached into the inlet hopper. Buckets or also called as cups dig into the material and convey it up and over the head pulley or sprocket and throw the material out of discharge throat.

It is also a very important accessory for oil mill machinery as it convey light to heavy products at ease. Most of the bucket elevator systems are popular in use today for elevating bulk materials. Their inherent simplicity makes them the best choice for handling bulk materials and processing applications. With the use of these elevators, the free flowing materials and other products with poor flow characteristics can be handled successfully.

The primary function of elevators is to move, transport and elevate objects or goods from place to place effectively and smoothly. The components of the buckets can also be moved out from different places when each belt moves. Most of the belts can be either chain driven or friction driven. In mining industries, most of the buckets are often filled with solid substances and transported in a vertical direction, dumped and poured to new places.

These solid materials are heavy enough and therefore the bucket should be constructed and made of heavy products like metals. Most of the metallic buckets are used in many industries, as it is durable, strong and tensile for different purposes. Each product in the buckets are raised or lowered to another containers if necessary.

The process of lowering and raising can be done using the hydraulic and mechanical power. Another function of these systems is transporting the bucket in a horizontal direction. Each material is transported from one location to another with the help of these elevators. It has also a huge capacity of transporting products with better transportation and lower maintenance facilities.

These systems are durable with low driving capacity. Goods can be easily transported smoothly and lifted even in a higher place using this elevator. They are also reliable and compose of different lifting capabilities. Most of the modern elevators are using plastic ones and rubber belts for better and effective functioning.

These elevators has preferences including high hoisting height, less maintenance, utilized within a huge number of industries, huge conveying capacity, reliable and steady running, long service life, low driving power and extensive variety of lifting. They are often designed in handling different bulk objects from average to free flowing.

They are enclosed for dust and even for weather tight operation. They are utilized in construction sites with ease. They are designed to supply a wide range of elevator designs and types from high tonnage applications, high temperature, heavy duty to the lighter applications.

Since every bucket application is different and unique, it is important to use the right conveying system that offers a broad series of industrial elevator designs. Proper selection of systems will always depend on the capacity requirements and the characteristics of the material to be handled.
