Guidelines For Improving Airport Security America

By Brenda Russell

A lot of effort has been made in improving the level of safety in airports but more need to be done. Improvements should be done to accommodate the increased number of people who depend on plane travel. Also, sophisticated methods have been adopted to create terror in such areas as well. The following are guidelines for improving airport security America.

Use of better technologies. There has been a lot of efforts in safety technology in places such as this, but more development should be made. Airports can employ different technologies such as missile defense for planes, use of quality explosive and material detector, use of reliable facial recognition methods and other new developments.

Strengthen safety measures outside the current Transport Security Administration Jurisdiction. Authorities in charge of safety in airports are restricted to observe safety measures within the terminals. It means that people who are operating outside the terminals are not checked or considered in the safety measures employed. The authorities should adopt measures such as improving infrastructure which can accommodate people outside the screening area.

Reduce identity challenges within the facility. Most people who work in an airport are staffs of different airlines. This can lead to complication of safety details due to the presence of different people working in these facilities. Therefore, authorities in charge of these facilities should adopt a method which they can be able to monitor every employee working within it despite their differences.

Adoption of pre-check policies. Pre-check policies are used to acknowledge regular users of an aerodrome before their arrival in such facilities. It is meant to reduce repetition of a similar safety precaution method anytime a regular user access this facility. The users are expected to file documents about themselves on websites owned by different safety agencies. The policies will also increase the rate of service delivery in these areas.

The airport needs to increase funds which are provided to different agencies in charge of safety in the entire area. Most agencies which provide safety in airports do not have enough finances to run their operation. Such issues can lead to under staffing, use of outdated technology and poor capital management. Therefore, governments should invest in these agencies and monitor their fund to ensure that they are effective.

Establishment of suitable chaos control measures. The fact that these areas have adopted different measures does not guarantee that they are completely safe. Chances of attacks are still high and relevant chaos control methods should be adopted. Some of the measures to be used include installation of wide exits, reducing the number of barriers along these areas and maintaining a suitable floor.

Using other airports as benchmarks and innovation centers. It is hard to improve on this without practical examples of places which have succeeded in this and set aside certain places as centers of innovation. Such considerations will help in improving the safety measures employed in one place compared with other areas which have made remarkable progress in this.
