Can Long Island Marketing Assist Independent Games?

By Rob Sutter

I am someone who is deeply involved in the gaming world as we know it today and I understand that talent can be seen just about anywhere. Just because someone's budget is greater than someone else's does not necessarily mean that a more engaging game will be seen. There is more focus that should be given on higher levels of creativity, which is the essence of independent gaming. Can Long Island marketing prove to be a helpful platform for those projects that struggle to gain attention?

Gamers across the board pride themselves on being knowledgeable on the hottest games to come. They know all too well which titles should be looked into and the presence of artwork and video content, to name a couple of examples, only helps to draw the attention of the audience that much more. This, in my opinion, is where interest starts and it must be built over the course of time as well. However, is every indy gaming going to be able to reach the level of Minecraft, which is regarded as one of the most successful indy games out there?

I think that the uprising of Kickstarter has been able to help a number of products tremendously over the course of time. Potential backers who have an interest in a certain concept will be able to pledge a certain amount of money and, as a result, benefit from the backer tiers that are illustrated. They can include anything from their name in the end credits to collector's packages. Like I said before, though, not every title has the ability to reach the masses in the same way.

As a result, is it a given that Long Island marketing will be able to come into effect in the long term? After all, the ability to promote any given name in relation to the competition is something that is done by firms like fishbat and there are many reasons for this. From SEO to social media in general, there is no end game as far as the services that can be put to use. In fact, I believe that these services will prove themselves to be some of the finest.

I do not think that anyone can argue with the fact that Long Island marketing is tremendous in many different ways. The best firms understand that any product - whether it is an independently made video game or what have you - deserves to have publicity brought to it and it can be done rather well. There is no question that social media has had an impact on life in general. It is just a matter of transitioning that impact into the world of business, which can be done with effectiveness.
