You may be wondering how your surrounding has been miraculously surviving for years despite the many phenomena such as landslides, volcanic erruptions, earthquakes and many more. Sometimes, you could think of what these things could have done to the environment which you may not notice. Or maybe wonder how long shall the land still last.

You may not understand how, but geologists are the ones who can explain why. These people are trained to become very professional in surveying the land, including all the waters, materials and other minerals in it. Having said so, it would be a dram come true to pursue a professions that handles Wellsite Geology Permian Basin.

Being a wellsite geologists is a little bit different from being an engineering geologist or a geophysicist. This is because the specific profession handles more field works which involve rocks and soils. In addition, these individuals are responsible for drilling and examining these types of earthly materials.

Details are highly important for this study. Every once in a while, these professionals shall involve testing and analyze rocks, soil, and even oil. And when doing so, it is important to observe even the smallest details such that you could still find the smallest concerns and reach a possible solution for each of it as soon as possible.

Technical skills are also highly recommendable when wanting to proceed such profession. This is because you will be dealing with a lot of specific machines during the examinations. In this case, you have to be very technical in knowing how to proceed with every procedure the right way and most especially, you have to know which is the appropriate tool.

Regular supervision. From time to time, there will be drilling for oil and gas. When this happens, you should always be present for every session as you will be the one to supervise such procedure. Along with supervision, you will be analyzing the sample rocks and muds taken from the drilling.

An untoward incident may take place anytime. Working on fiels can impose a lot of troubles. Thus, you must be able to prepare for these things by taking all possible preventive measures. This includes having the knowledge to know how to attend to those who are injured.

The Good Leader. As a wellsite geologist, it is your duty to guide all the junior employees present in every procedure. With all the knowledge that you have, you should be able to share these things with the aspiring ones. More so, you should ensure that these people have understood whatever process was done during the drilling.

In order to pursue this passion, you will need a degree in Geology. And while there are a lot of branches for this study, you may consider focusing on oil and gas exploration for this. The reason behind many geologists wanting to work in Permian Basin is because this place, located in between Western Texas and New Mexico, is considered to have the most productive formation in the United States since 2007 and thus, producing variations of geological formations.
