Important Things You Must Do Before Quitting Your Work

By George Dodson

With today's economic situation, a lot of people end up quitting their jobs to find another. As you head to a job that you feel that is sucking too much of your energy without having to provide you with the salery that you deserve, you'll definitely opt to quit that job.

You then start to question if this job is really what you deserve. Is this my only option? Do this exhausting job everyday and only have time for yourself on weekends?

These thoughts can often lead to feelings of depression, stress and anxiety.

However, these should not be the case. Many people who have resigned from their jobs became successful from their new jobs or from their own businesses.

Prior to actually resigning from your job it is important that you think through your reasons.

First, you will need to validate the reason for your resignation and make sure it is not only because your colleagues are talking back at you or backstabbing you. If you've been enduring some stress and pain over your job then submitting a resignation would probably a good choice.

Then, you would need a good understanding of what is happening. Think about the things and factors that influence you on opting to leave your job. Would it be because you like to manage things on your own? Probably you don't have the respect that you deserve? Or is it because you're doing something that you really don't want to do.

Furthermore, having to leave something behind doesn't guarantee you anything. Think carefully if the decision you've chosen will help you attain your goals. Understand that having to leave behind a job which you no longer have interest in will not lead you to something better - it only helps you rid of your current state. Try to ask yourself if you are looking for a job with lots of breaks or free time. Are you expecting more responsibility from your work? Or perhaps little or no responsibility? Get paid using your creativity? A complex reason? Be specific with what you want and what you would like to do in your life.

A plan for quitting the job you have should also something that you should prepare. Action speaks louder than words as they say but it is also important that you think of your actions first. As soon as you've made up your mind to achieve something once you've quit your job, lay out a plan on how you can take that route. You don't want to leave your job without a well thought out plan. Prior to actually quitting you can research job openings you really want or spaces for rent if you are looking to have a business after quitting.

That plan of yours will back up your decision of having to quit your job. Also, it can provide you with ease of mind as you?ll be setting up a back-up plan the moment you are out of your current work. With a devised plan, you will be confident to take actions which lead you to your goals. As soon as you have a good plan you can execute after resigning along with the back up finances then you can confidently hand your resignation to your boss.
