The Respectable Manager: Tips On How To Become One

By George Dodson

If you're a manager then you would understand that there is a heavy burden you should carry. Being a manger, you should be aware of your many responsibilities which should never be ignored as this can cause the whole team or company to malfunction. Among those responsibilities given to a manager would include simply managing a team, overseeing procedures and processes, making sure that the minimum production per day is met and many others. A manager is also someone that people trust in the workplace. Thus without being credible as well as amiable within the office then you can't be a good manager. Therefore, how can you become a good manager? Listed here are a few of the things you can do to become the ideal manager at work or the good leader.

Boost your credibility A simple yet effective way of gaining loyalty from your staff or colleagues is by boosting or establishing your credibility. Trust is something that is very important at work and no one wants to work or be with someone who she or he doesn't trust. Having to establish credibility at work allows you to also establish trust and closeness at work with your colleagues or staff. A good demonstration of good credibility at work is when you help others grow as well as practicing your skills. Respect will then be given to you as well as trust.

Be a people person Whatever happens, you need to put your colleagues first. Find time to help them perform better at work and give them resources to better themselves if you have to. If you do this, you can connect to your colleagues or staff better and you'll even have a better rate of production if your staff are fully supported. In this regard, listening to them will also be essential in order to know what you can do and give to help them. As you do this, you may also want to always encourage them to give them something to look forward to.

Acknowledge efforts For every positive thing that is done by your employees or colleagues, always be sure to acknowledge their efforts. Any person would feel happy if they know that their efforts are always acknowledged or given credit. At the same time, you would also want to acknowledge the efforts of those who have tried but failed. With this, your colleagues can further enhance their resources and skills and try again until they can achieve a more positive result.

Be a good example who they can follow What simpler way to show your colleagues that you are a great manager by showing them a good example. A manager is not only involved in supervising his or her staff but also has other personal tasks he should do. Simply carrying out your designated task effectively, timely and properly should already show a good example to your staff. Never show that you are lazy as this will be followed by others. Become a person who wants success and they will do the same.
